The capital city of France is an age-long part of the country and the continent of Europe as a whole. The city of Paris is said to be one of the oldest cities of Europe, and has remained the capital of France even after witnessing a major historical event, called the French Revolution. It also houses an expansive collection of art, culture, fashion and of course, cuisine. All these and more sums it up as a great go-to location for holidays, vacations and tourism.
Paris as a tourist hotspot plays a huge part in world tourism as it is the home of several interesting and appealing must-see spots and places. Paris, as a historical city offers pure evidence of this in its Louvre Museum. Like the Eiffel Tower, it is one of the most popular art museums in the world. Surprisingly, it is the home of the foreknown Mona Lisa painting, the Winged Victory of Samothrace, the Venus de Milo and many more artworks. The museum has also earned its place in the tourist attractions of Paris due to its outstanding architectural design and framework. This is clearly seen in its Pyramid, known as the Louvre Pyramid, which was designed by I.M. Pei. The Mona Lisa painting by Leonardo da Vinci is one of the paintings almost anyone can identify not only because of many imitations of it, but because of its perfect beauty, scenery and artistic lineation. The Venus de Milo is a classical art, stemming from its connection to Greece in the 2nd century.

If you’ve seen the movie, it must have left a lasting impression in your mind about the enchanting nature of the world inside the walls of the Cathedral. The building of the Cathedral commenced in 1163 and it was finished in 1345. As a Gothic architectural ensemble, it was built with a ribbed vaulted ceiling and spires, which are well-known features of Gothic design. The Notre Dame Cathedral has great religious significance, based on the fact that it served as the centre of Roman Catholic worship in France and still serves that purpose today.
